LeashMates is a social app for dog owners — built to help you find walks, playdates, and real connection with people who get it. Match by dog size, breed, temperament, and location. Whether you're looking for a walk buddy, a new friend, or something more, it all starts with the dogs.
Hi, I'm Heidi — founder of LeashMates. This whole thing started with one very good dog: my rescue pup, Lotti.
Lotti is smart, sweet, and endlessly loyal — but she's also a nervous soul who doesn't do well when things move too fast or get too loud. So off-leash dog parks? Hard pass. All that chaos is just too much for her. But put her one-on-one with the right dog in a calmer setting, and she completely lights up.
The problem was finding other dog owners who wanted the same thing: relaxed walks, low-key playdates, dogs meeting dogs on their own terms. It felt nearly impossible — and I had a hunch I wasn't the only one.
So I built LeashMates. It started as a simple way to match dog owners for one-on-one walks and playdates based on breed, size, and temperament. But somewhere along the way, it grew into something bigger — a place where dog people find their people.
